The ecosystem of professional learning developed by Tawasta and eEemeli competition has been chosen as one of the finalists in the eEemeli competition for the best digital learning solution in Finland.
The ecosystem brings together the network that supports the professional learner: the teachers, the tutors, the administration as well as the workplace instructor. It enables them to share information and follow the student’s progress who is in the center of the process. The students can proceed on their individualized learning paths in their own pace in without placing an ureasonable burden on the staff. Progress can be followe in real time and the student can be guided to the right path early in case he/she has difficulties. Learning is based on commonly agreed processes and the national qualification requirements, which enables every student for equal quality of studying and learning.
The ecosystem is based on Futural Edu open source system.
This is the third time that Tawasta is competing amongst the best of Finnish digital learning. In 2014 the Futurality-simulation was a finalist and in 2018 Futural Skills won the competition.
Tampere Vocational College Tredu implements Futural Skills in their learning process management.
”Among other things, Futural Skills improves the teachers’ and the instructors’ possibilities to support learning even from the distance. After the financial cutbacks in education, there are less resources to visit the workplaces.”
Futural Skills collects all aqcuired learning and experience into one place. ”Often, the student has difficulties in seeing and detecting all his/her learning. When the goals are visualized and the students can document their learning easily for example with photos, they get a structured perception of their own learning”, tells the teacher Petri Jäminki. The student can also create a CV that shows their acquired competencies to their potential employees.
